What’s been happening?

Well needless to say it has been very quiet on the blog site, due to me being very busy.

1) Recently finished placement at Glorious Creative, after a rather brilliant and fun filled 3 months. Kebabs, Top 10 Fridays and alot of awesome work I will miss the guys. Thanks for everything! Keep rocking Greenday!

2) Interviews and placement reviews at a bunch of sweet companies: Like a River, Raw, Reform, Creative Leap etc.

3) Beginning new placement very soon.

4) Doing some/alot of work for new swim brand, which will be working alongside alot of our olympic swimmers. That’s all I can say.

5) Helping with Design Week Vox pop.

6) Sorting out possibly working over in Canada for a year.

phew…so check out my site for the new work and new experiences that is popping up.

The power of Mighty Boosh…

bilde

This spiffing poster found directly behind the Director of Zig-Zag, is the brain-child of Glorious and the child of Paul Harvey (that rather awesome painter). Looking awesome in photo but ever more amazing in my bedroom. The generousity of Glorious is further than the eye can reach and wana give a shout out to Mark for giving me not 1 but 3 of the beauts!…THANKS!

One step for man…one giant Creative Leap for me…

Goodbye, Hello and Hello again…

…Well after a successfully and juicy month and a bit at Glorious I had a little bad news. Another placement is soon due in to begin a 2 week placement which results in my placement ending. BUT…this was quickly followed with some good news as Glorious want me to come back for a little longer, terrific news in which I replied “YES!!!!!”

So with two weeks off from Glorious the world is my ocean, and how better to spend this time but to grab the opportunity to join Kings Arms for a couple of weeks, an almighty, creatively charged and ideas bursting advertising company here in Manchester.

So with a temporary goodbye to Glorious and a huge HELLO to Kings Arms, I will be joining them mid-July, in efforts to blast out some ground-breaking ideas all over the wall!

Tea at the King’s Arms…

…This Friday  I managed to swing in a portfolio review with Paul Watson of King’s arms who are a rather creative and imaginative team over in Deansgate, Manchester, offering a cuppa and plenty of quirky traits. I must admit after viewing their self promotion sum 10 times it still continually makes me smile, here’s some of there amazing work:

Driven and driving…

…Most Monday mornings are spent collecting yourself for the challenges and creative sparks in the week ahead. But not mine, after having to have the day off work so I could spend a morning with the doctors and an afternoon with the dentist, my Monday was spent driving around trying to get mended. However in all the hustle and chaos of the day I had a nice treat. After a few weeks in contact with Creative Partner Chris Lear from Driven I was pleased to be asked to pop in and show my portfolio to him which was a real pleasure and I was offered the chance to work alongside them in the future which I am very pleased about, check out their recent work for Vimto…

A glorious day…

My first day at Glorious Creative was yesterday, and so far going really well been thrown in to developing a brand spanking new identity for a drinks merchant and to also develop their name…More difficult than said but I’m always up for the challenge. To top off my already creative streaming day I have an interview with REFORM also based in Manchester for a placement opportunity which was a lovely morning email surprise, which went really well and will hopefully be joining them in the near future. Here’s a little sample of REFORM’s work, enjoy…

A wave called Panic…

…Last night was the opening evening of the talented illustrator Chris Gray a former team player of Love, he has been working extremely hard recreating and spicing up the much loved Common bar in Manchester. If you have the chance I would highly recommend popping down there, have a bite to eat, a drink and admire where all the hard work has gone to…Here’s a taster….

Team TBWA…

…After a recent placement interview with a rather friendly guy from TBWA/Manchester I managed to successfully grab the opportunity to do a placement with the talented and quite reputable company in September. An added layer to this placement was that I got the opportunity to bring along a fellow team mate in which to work along and produce some mind blowing uber-cool work with. With this in mind I made the decision that my team mate should be Andy C, a former University buddy who is going to be entering his last year come September at Staffordshire University, so I am looking forward for Team TBWA to do some rather awesome collaborations.

And for us to come up with a better team name.

My leaving from a fantastic agency…

…Well it will soon be my last day at the wonderful and brilliant design company Love. After a fantastic and very quick 3 1/2 months working with them I have learnt so much and will greatly miss possibly the nicest bunch of guys and gals. So I am definantly going to keep my ears to the ground for an future opportunities to return. So thank you so very much guys and gals for this incredible opportunity. During my time at Love I have been working on Umbro, Playstation, Hotels-London and Angels of Anarchy so a lovely bunch of projects thanks.

…But…I won’t be going too far away as soon after I will be joining the creative team of Glorious Creative for a minimum of 1 month, which I am very excited about. They are a neat and creative design studio also within the Manchester area with a honorable amount of design awards and recognition under their belt, check out their site and have a nose at some of their rather brilliant work, here’s a little taster…
